Abstract
A disc apparatus according to one aspect of this invention includes a detection unit configured to detect a first tracking balance value by first adjustment in a tracking balance adjustment mode for controlling a light beam to trace along a track on a disc, and to detect a second tracking balance value by second adjustment different from the first adjustment, and an adjustment unit configured to adjust tracking balance on the basis of the first and second tracking balance values.
Abstract
A balance (1) with a weighing pan (3) inside a weighing compartment (2) enclosed by a draft shield (4) has at least one thermoelectric module (16) that is arranged outside of the weighing compartment (2) and thermally connected to a stationary part of the balance (1). At least one vertical wall (8) of the draft shield (4) has a lower end portion in thermal connection with the thermoelectric module (16). The vertical wall (8) is configured in such a way that a temperature gradient develops in the vertical wall (8), wherein the temperature increases from the bottom to the top of the wall (8).
Abstract
A method of startup for an optical drive with an auto-balance system. When an optical disk is provided in the optical drive with the auto-balance system, a startup procedure, which includes a servo activating procedure and a system parameter adjustment procedure, is performed. Further, a rotation speed control procedure is performed cyclically according to a spindle motor RPM profile when the system parameter adjustment procedure is performed, so that data stored in the optical disk is correctly retrieved by the optical drive. Preferably, an interrupt subroutine is performed cyclically to perform the rotation speed control procedure. |
