Abstract
A computer desk that uses a cantilevered work surface structure rotatably mounted to a vertical support column. The support column can be mounted so that the lower end rests upon the floor and the upper end is affixed either directly to the ceiling or by brackets to an elevated position on the wall of the structure or dwelling. The desk can be installed next to a bed and positioned to allow use while sitting up in bed or rotated to allow use while sitting in a chair. The desk can have multiple deck levels to accommodate a computer and accessories and a separate deck for control elements such as keyboard, mouse, and/or game controllers that can incorporate armrests. It can be assembled in right hand or left hand configuration from the same parts. It is designed to be as adjustable as is possible while also being inexpensive to produce.
Abstract
A dual use computer desk has a planar work surface supported by side panels at opposite longitudinal ends of a curvilinear front edge. Bifurcating into two work stations the space under the desk top, a cabinet contains sliding shelves for a computer and other equipment and accessories. Slidable drawers disposed a spaced distance below the desktop within each of the work stations provide adjustable storage for computer controller equipment. At one of the work stations, gaming equipment may be attached and ready for use, while the other work station may contain a keyboard and mouse for more conventional computer functions. A swivel stand disposed on the desktop above the cabinet allows a monitor to articulate between the two work stations.
Abstract
Disclosed is a computer desk that is a piece of fine furniture when in a non-operable configuration, and as a computer station in a second and operable configuration. The computer desk includes a plurality of panels conformally integrated. These panels open to reveal a computer housing, keyboard, and flat panel monitor. In the operational configuration, a front access panel provides a support surface for the keyboard, and an upper access panel provides a mounting support for the monitor. The computer housing can be discretely concealed below in a cavity created between the upper access panel and the underside of the furniture. |
