A mattress for a hospital bed is provided. The mattress includes an encasing enclosing a compressible mattress portion and a rigid mattress portion. The compressible mattress portion has an integral construction extending from a head end of the bed to a foot end of the bed. The rigid mattress portion contracts from a first elongated position to a second retracted position, and the rigid portion contracting the compressible mattress portion therewith. The rigid mattress portion may be provided at any side or end section of the mattress. Accordingly, the width or length of the mattress can be modified.
An air mattress includes a mattress envelope having a compartment and comprising a thermos functional layer and an outer layer overlapped thereon and an air cushion including a plurality of individual air chambers evenly disposed in the compartment of the mattress envelope and an air supplying tube communicatively interconnecting the air chamber with each other. A thermos control arrangement includes a liquid supplying tube spirally extending at the thermos functional layer of the mattress envelope for guiding a flow of thermos liquid and a thermos energy generator arranged to regulate a temperature of the thermos liquid such that when the thermos liquid passes through the liquid supplying tube, the thermos liquid thermo-communicating with the thermos functional layer of the mattress envelope towards the outer layer so as to regulate a temperature of the mattress envelope.
A method for fitting bedding to a mattress in a fixed, taut position, comprising: providing a side surface formed with an interconnectable fastening means comprising band pairs of a two-sided, hooks-and-loops type material; providing bedding having double bands of fastening means fixedly attached along stretching bands on at least three sides; stretching and drawing a first component of the bedding over the side surface; attaching the first component to the fastening means in a removable attachment; stretching and drawing a second component of the bedding over the side surface; attaching the second component to the mattress fastening means in a removable attachment at a point below that of the first component; and repeating the above steps in sequential order for additional components of the bedding as needed, each additional component being attached in a stepped position extending below the attachment of a prior component on the side surface.
A mattress including textile layers or covers which are padded by a foamed, cross-perforated latex layer in the inner structure of the mattress in such a way that a ventilated and heat-dissipating mattress configuration is achieved. |
